Environmental responsibility
Systematic Climate Work
We are committed to reducing our climate impacts. The international Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved our near-term emission reduction targets in 2025, according to which we will reduce our own emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 42% by 2030.
Since 2020, we have calculated and reported our carbon footprint in accordance with the international GHG Protocol. In 2024, we expanded our calculations to include some of the Scope 3 emissions from our value chain and procurement, which we also committed to measure and reduce systematically in our SBTi targets.

As a concrete climate action, we offset (i.e., compensate for) the emissions from our own operations (Scope 1 and 2) as well as the production and logistics emissions of our KAJO brand products through certified projects. These include a Gold Standard certified reforestation project in Ethiopia and a solar energy project in India.

We recognize that in addition to compensation, it is essential to focus on systematic emission reduction. In accordance with our SBTi targets, we promote the reduction of our supply chain emissions (Scope 3) through supplier choices, product range decisions, procurement practices, and collaboration with suppliers.
To deepen our expertise, we have also been selected to join the Finland Chamber of Commerce’s new Climate Community. The community offers SMEs training and opportunities to network with other companies in climate work.

Comprehensive Environmental Program Guides Our Operations
Our environmental responsibility work is based on a comprehensive and practical environmental program. The program defines eleven key areas of activity, such as climate impact management, product range ecology, supply chain responsibility, logistics, waste management, energy efficiency, and developing environmental awareness among staff.
We annually assess environmental aspects and set concrete development goals for the most significant areas..
Print On Demand Service
Our e-commerce customers’ ordering process is based on the Print On Demand service, which is one of our most concrete cornerstones of environmental responsibility. Print On Demand means that we mark products for the customer only according to genuine need. Therefore, the customer does not need to order 50 t-shirts if the need is only for five pieces. Each product is marked in our own printing facility in Pori and Tampere.
Thanks to this model, we avoid excess product waste and reduce unnecessary consumption, which minimizes the environmental impacts of both materials and logistics. Print On Demand also makes it possible to efficiently and responsibly manage the amount of inventory and surplus products.

More Sustainable Choices in Product Range
We strive to prioritize solutions in our product range that support more sustainable choices. Our selection is continuously developed so that more and more products consider the use of recycled materials or renewable raw materials, certified materials, durable structure and long service life, as well as the environmental impacts of the manufacturing location and transport distances.
Our goal is to offer customers more alternatives that reduce overall environmental impacts. We also continuously develop product-specific emission data, allowing us to help our customers in their own emission calculations and guide them even more concretely to make more responsible choices.
Certified Environmental Management System
Our ISO 14001 certified environmental management system ensures a systematic approach to environmental impact management. We annually assess the environmental aspects of our operations and set concrete improvement targets. We focus especially on reducing waste, environmental friendliness of printing methods, developing energy efficiency and machinery, product material choices, and environmental responsibility in the supply chain.

Double Materiality Analysis Guides Our Operations
As part of our sustainability work, we conducted a double materiality analysis in accordance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) together with Nordic Impact Oy, which identified which sustainability topics are relevant to our operations. The key objective was to identify and assess our business impacts, risks, and opportunities in relation to the sustainability factors of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) under CSRD.
As a result of the analysis, we identified the most relevant sustainability themes for Innoflame. The most significant themes relate to climate change, product and material circulation and quality, employee (own and value chain) safety and well-being, and responsible corporate culture.
Although the sustainability reporting obligation does not yet directly apply to us, we want to proactively prepare for reporting. Based on the analysis, the most important themes for our sustainability work were defined. The results give us a clear picture of the materiality of sustainability issues in relation to business and help in planning, making strategic decisions, and managing risks.
We Conduct Voluntary Sustainability Reporting
In April 2025, we published our first sustainability report in accordance with the VSME standard (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs). We are one of the first Finnish SMEs to have adopted this voluntary reporting model designed for EU SMEs. The report helps us identify areas for development, measure our progress, and provide our stakeholders with even more transparent information about our company’s sustainability.
Responsibility Throughout the Supply Chain
Innoflame has established supplier agreements and comprehensive ethical guidelines with subcontractors, in which we require them to meet the same quality criteria as our own environmental program. We expect the supplier to operate in a way that can actively manage environmental risks, save natural resources, comply with environmental legislation, and protect the environment in the communities where it conducts business.
We work closely throughout the supply chain, perform sustainability assessments and audits, and encourage our partners to continuously improve.
We are committed to fulfilling our packaging producer responsibility in cooperation with the Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd.

We Promote Global Sustainable Development
Innoflame’s environmental responsibility work is guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have identified a particularly relevant goal for us:
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption
We aim to prevent the production of unnecessary and unsustainable goods by building a responsible product range and minimizing waste through our Print On Demand service.

Environmental responsibility
Although we are a supplier, we don’t want to add any unnecessary items to the world. We have measured our operational emissions annually since 2020 and developed concrete ways to reduce our environmental impact.
